Engagement continues! Thanks to all of you who attended our Spring Chapter meeting to hear some very timely and important state and national health reform news from Dan Schwartzer, WAHU Executive Vice President.
Thank you and welcome to all of the new Associate level members who have joined WAHU in 2010. A special acknowledgement goes out to our membership Chairs, Jeff DesJardins and Lori Desorcy, for their outstanding recruitment of Associate members in 2010, accounting for 50% of the new members statewide. Thank you Jeff and Lori!
Growing our members statewide is critical to the survival of our profession. With the passage of the new health reform law (PPACA) in March, much education among regulators and politicians is needed about the role of the agent, especially on a going forward basis. There will be much for us to learn, sort through, and educate the purchasers of healthcare and health insurance about in the coming months and years ahead.
Information will be key. The best and most reliable source of information will be accessed through WAHU and NAHU memberships. You validated this through our recent FV Chapter survey, indicating overwhelmingly, that health reform updates, especially in the future are the most valued WAHU membership benefits to you. As a result, we will continue to place emphasis on providing you with timely and important health reform updates.
WAHU and NAHU is committed to helping us work through the various implementation phases of health reform. Our upcoming educational forums will help you and your clients understand and comply with the new rules of the road going forward. As changes are inevitable, you will want to engage in the following educational opportunities.

July 15, 2010 (Milwaukee) & July 20th (Madison)
WAHU Annual Fall Sales Conference

Thank you for your continued membership in our organization. Your commitment to educating Wisconsin residents about health reform changes matters more than ever.
Regards,
Paulette Ruminski
